Sharing the Hope within You

- Peter summarizes his letter so far:
- Have unity of mind
- Be sympathetic
- Show brotherly love to one another
- Have a tender heart
- Have a humble mind
- Do not repay evil for evil (Romans 12:19)
- Be a blessing
- The blessing of long life and good days is ours to obtain.
- Keep your tongue from speaking evil and deceit
- Turn away from evil and do good
- Seek peace and pursue it
- Be Righteous
- Pray
- If we must suffer, then in righteous suffering there is great blessing.
- There are different reasons why people suffer:
- For doing evil and for the wrong thing – for breaking the law
- The fact that this world has a curse on it
- God’s sovereign will & plan do not always provide the best circumstances
- For being His salt and light in the world
- Consider these three “J’s” in regard to suffering:
- Consider too that the end result was always positive.
- We should always be ready to share the great hope we have in Christ and God.
- Be prepared
- If you are slandered, have a proper response (Acts 5:41-42)
- Care enough about God and others to share His Good News
