Scripture: John
Jesus defined himself as the Good Shepherd. In all four accounts of his life we see him in action. We will look more closely at his qualities as the Good Shepherd, including Peter’s experiences with him, and then we’ll think about the ways we can be involved with Jesus as the Good Shepherd in our lives today.
So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:1-10
Life on earth cannot exist with light. Neither can it exist without Jesus Christ. Your life will change the more you understand what Jesus means when he says, “I am the Light of the World.”
“He who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one in their heart and nature.
Jesus promises absolute and unbreakable keeping of His people as the apple of His eye.
Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Savior, from the dead, and His triumph over sin and death!
Because Jesus has rescued us and built into our lives, we have the privilege of cooperating with His Spirit to build into other people’s lives — strangers and everyone else — through the means of conversations. Jesus gave us a good example of how this can happen.
“God so loved the world that …” besides giving His one and only Son, He has done many other astounding things to bring people to Himself. Today you’ll get another taste of the amazing things God is doing to bring people to Himself on a large scale and also another sample of what He has done on a minute scale to show His love to an individual person. This is the same amazing God who gives us the opportunity to invest with Him!
The risen Christ works with resurrection power in our hearts and lives to do new things.
