We are going through a large section of Romans that exposes what people rely on, and the trouble that results when the objects of their trust are unreliable. (Romans 1:18 – 3:20). Today we look at Romans 2:1-3:8 – People who rely on God’s laws and the correct religion.
Judgment day is coming for all, where all will give an account. All that will suffice then is the righteousness of God, received by faith and evidenced in a life submitted to Him.
Romans 1:18 summarizes this whole section (1:18-32), “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness (unrighteousness) of men …”
As Paul begins his profound letter to the church in Rome, he makes clear what defines and impassions him.
